Enter the configuration(s) for the installed pump(s):

Option

Description

Pump A Installed

Make sure that this check box is selected. (Select this check box for the Shimadzu LC-10A system only if a pump is configured with the system.)

Device Name

Indicates the name under which the instrument is identified in the installation environment (default: Pump; also, refer to Naming Devices...). To control the instrument via the existing Control Panels, accept the default name. If you do not accept the default name, you may have to edit the PGM Files and re-link the corresponding control of the control panel. (Also, refer to How to: Controlling Devices from the Control Panel  Linking a Control to a Device in the User Help section.)

No. of Solvents (1...3)

Indicates the number of solvents used with the pump. The number of solvents is set automatically upon selecting the pump type (see below under Isocratic, Binary HPG, Ternary HPG or Quaternary LPG).

No FCV.A / B / C
(not LC-2010)

Select this option if no flow channel valve (FCV) is configured for pumps A, B, or C.

FCV-10AL
(not LC-2010)

Select this option if an FCV-10AL flow channel valve is configured for the selected pump.

FCV-10ALvp
(not LC-2010)

Select this option if an FCV-10ALvp flow channel valve is configured for the selected pump.

FCV-11AL

Select this option if an FCV-11AL flow channel valve is configured for the selected pump.

Tip:

When using a binary or ternary HPG pump, make sure to connect the FCV-11AL to pump A. Otherwise, the Audit Trail will report an error.

FCV-11ALS

Select this option if an FCV-11ALS flow channel valve is configured for the selected pump.

LPGE Unit

Select this option if an LPGE proportioning valve is configured for the selected pump.

Drop-down list box

Select the installed pump type from the list:

Isocratic

Select this entry for isocratic elution; e.g., if only one pump without flow channel valve (FCV) is installed. In this case, the number of solvents is automatically set to 1.

Binary HPG
(not LC-2010)

Select this entry for binary high-pressure gradients; e.g., if two pumps but no flow channel valves (FCV) are installed. The number of solvents is automatically set to 2.

Ternary HPG
(not LC-2010)

Select this option for ternary high-pressure gradients; e.g., if three pumps but no flow channel valves (FCV) are installed. The number of solvents is automatically set to 3.

Quaternary LPG

Select this option for quaternary low-pressure gradients, e.g., if one or more pumps with flow channel valve(s) (FCV) are installed. Up to 4 solvents can be used.

(LC-2010 only) Select the High Flow check box to use only two solvents %A and %B. The instrument uses channels A and B for solvent %A and C and D for solvent %B.

Solvent 1 (to 4)

Enter a descriptive name for the connected solvents. A maximum of 30 characters is permitted for the name. The name appears on the gradient plot on the online Control Panel and in the report.

Pump B / C
(not LC-2010)

If a second or third pump is installed (Pump B or Pump C), select the corresponding Installed check box. As for Pump A, accept the default name indicated in the Device Name field and enter a solvent name in the Solvent field.
