Tip:
You must disable the "FIXED" parameter in the SYSTEM CONFIGURATION menu of the system controller before you can configure any pump settings.

Note:
These panels are not installed during the Chromeleon installation. They are installed to the standard panels folder during the installation of the autopurification system.

Hardware Installation
Device Connection:
|
Connect the pump to the COM port on the PC via the PP-150 system controller, using a completely connected null modem cable (Dionex part no. 1310.2263; see Null Modem Cable in the Appendix of the Hardware Installation section).
To connect the pump to the PP-150 system controller, use a fiber-optical cable.
Tip:
If you want the system controller to send the start signal, use the signal cable that is shipped with the system controller. Connect the orange and the brown wires of the signal cable to the INJ.IN port on the controller's rear panel.

Device Settings:

Communication settings on the system controller:

Turn on the system controller.

Select 4(SYSTEM) and F3(NEXT) on the Main menu to open the COMMUNICATION SETTING menu.

Set the communication parameters as follows:
CLASS-VP: 5.x (or 5or6)
Interface: RS-232C
Baud rate: 19200
Level: Enhanced

Wait for 10 seconds.

Turn off and restart the system controller.
System configuration on the system controller:
-
Turn on the PP-150 system controller and all connected pumps.

Press F4(CONFIG) key while the Main menu is displayed to open the SYSTEM CONFIGURATION menu.

Press the F2(FIX) key if FIXED is displayed on the top right to enable the edit mode.
FIXED is no longer displayed; all connected modules are listed with their firmware version.

Use the Ù and Ú keys to navigate from line to line. Enter F1(SEL|DEL) in the corresponding lines to select all available modules (inverted text). Deselect all absent modules (normal text).

Press the F2(FIX) key again to disable the edit mode.
FIXED should now reappear on the top right.

Press the F5(MENU) key to return to the Main menu.
System configuration on the pump:

Turn on the PP-150 pump.
-
Press Func until [LOCAL] appears. Verify that the local parameter is set to 0. Else, press the 0 key and confirm by pressing ENTER.

Press Func until [ADRS] appears. Enter the number of the REMOTE channel of the system controller to which the pump is connected.

Restrictions:
|
Each system controller can control a maximum of 3 PP-150 pumps. Each Chromeleon server can control 2 system controllers.
If the flow rate exceeds 50 mL/min, the Pressure.UpperLimit must not exceed 300 bar. (With 100 mL/min, the Pressure.UpperLimit must not exceed 180 bar, and with 150 mL/min, it must not exceed 80 bar.) Chromeleon does not check this.

Software Installation
For details about how to add timebases and device drivers to the configurations, refer to Adding, Configuring or Deleting Devices. When you add a driver to the timebase, the configuration dialog or wizard opens automatically. For information about the settings, click the Help button on a page or press F1.
