What is required?

License:

Timebase Class 1

Connection:

A free RS-232 port is required plus the following cable:

  • Null modem cable (For more information, refer to  Null Modem Cable (Dionex part no. 1310.2263) in the Appendix of the Hardware Installation section.)

For the connection to the mains supply, you need in addition:

  • Power cord (the cable is shipped with the instrument)

Control Panel:

Operation.pan (user) and/or Service.pan (administrator)

 Note:

These panels are not installed during the Chromeleon installation. They are installed to the standard panels folder during the installation of the autopurification system.

Hardware Installation

Device Connection:

Connect the pump to the COM port on the PC via the PP-150 system controller, using a completely connected null modem cable (Dionex part no. 1310.2263; see  Null Modem Cable in the Appendix of the Hardware Installation section).

To connect the pump to the PP-150 system controller, use a fiber-optical cable.

 Tip:

If you want the system controller to send the start signal, use the signal cable that is shipped with the system controller. Connect the orange and the brown wires of the signal cable to the INJ.IN port on the controller's rear panel.

Device Settings:

Communication settings on the system controller:

  1. Turn on the system controller.

  2. Select 4(SYSTEM) and F3(NEXT) on the Main menu to open the COMMUNICATION SETTING menu.

  3. Set the communication parameters as follows:
    CLASS-VP: 5.x (or 5or6)
    Interface: RS-232C
    Baud rate: 19200
    Level: Enhanced

  4. Wait for 10 seconds.

  5. Turn off and restart the system controller.

  3. Press Func until [ADRS] appears. Enter the number of the REMOTE channel of the system controller to which the pump is connected.

Restrictions:

Each system controller can control a maximum of 3 PP-150 pumps. Each Chromeleon server can control 2 system controllers.

If the flow rate exceeds 50 mL/min, the Pressure.UpperLimit must not exceed 300 bar. (With 100 mL/min, the Pressure.UpperLimit must not exceed 180 bar, and with 150 mL/min, it must not exceed 80 bar.) Chromeleon does not check this.
