 Tips: 

The driver was tested with firmware version 1.13. However, other firmware versions may be supported nevertheless.

The driver supports digital data acquisition of up to two channels.

Restrictions:

Each Chromeleon server can control 2 LC-2010 HPLC Systems.

If the flow rate exceeds 5.001 mL/min, the Pressure.UpperLimit must not exceed 220 bar. Chromeleon does not check this.

A free RS232 port and the following cable are required:

Completely connected null modem cable (Dionex part no. 1310.2263; for more information, refer to  Null Modem Cable)

 Tip:

You cannot control the Shimadzu HPLC System via an RS-232 port on the UCI Universal Chromatography Interface.

Hardware Installation

Device Connection:

First, install Chromeleon software, and then connect the Shimadzu system to the RS232 port on the Chromeleon server PC, using the completely connected null modem cable.

Device Settings:

General control:

To control the LC-2010 from the PC, make the following settings on the HPLC system:

  1. Turn on the LC-2010.

  2. Enter the login ID on the system.

  3. Press F2[OK].

  4. Press the (Sys) key on the instrument. When the System Prep dialog appears, press F3[COM.SET] to open the COMMUNICATION SETTING dialog.

  5. Select PC.

  6. Press F5[EXIT].

  7. Wait 10 seconds.

  8. Turn off the LC-2010 and restart the HPLC system.

Changing the injection loop size:

Press the (Sys) key on the device. To toggle between the 100 µl and 2000 µl loops, use the following keys: F1 (SYSTEM), Func, F3 (S.LOOP), and F2 (OK).

 Attention:

The volume of the injection loop has to be configured on the front panel of the instrument and in Chromeleon (on the Sampler page in the Server Configuration).

Make sure that the same value is used both on the instrument and in Chromeleon when configuring the loop volume for the first time or editing an existing configuration.

 

Software Installation

For details about how to add timebases and device drivers to the Server Configuration, refer to Adding, Configuring or Deleting Devices. When you add a driver to the timebase, the configuration dialog or wizard opens automatically. For information about the settings, click the Help button on a page or press F1.
