Dionex/ESA Interface Cable
A 6-pin Mini-DIN signal cable or a Shutdown cable is required for connecting an UltiMate 3000 pump with one of the following detectors:
Corona Veo Charged Aerosol Detector
Corona Charged Aerosol Detector
Coulochem III Electrochemical Detector
The interface cable is used to stop the pump in the event of a loss of gas supply to the Corona detector. The interface cable can also be used to turn of an electrochemical cell in the event of a system failure (e.g. the pump stops).
After installation of the cable, the appropriate settings for the respective pump model have to be configured in the Chromeleon Instrument Configuration Manager program.
The table below provides an overview of the pump models that can be operated with a Corona detector and the cable type to be used:

6-Pin Mini-DIN cable (for UltiMate 3000 RS, SD, BM and BX pumps)
One end of the cable has a Mini-DIN connector that connects to the digital I/O ports on the rear panel of the pump. The pump has two identical digital I/O ports: port 1 for control of the left pump flow, and port 2 for control of the right pump flow.
The other end of the cable has separate wires that connect to the corresponding connectors on the detector.
The table below lists the individual wires and the corresponding terminals on the detector:

Shutdown Cable (for all UltiMate 3000 pumps except RS/SD, BM and BX pumps)
One end of the shutdown cable is fitted with a 25-pin D-Sub female connector that connects to the corresponding port of the UltiMate 3000 pump. The other end of the cable has separate wires that connect to the corresponding connectors on the detector.
The table below lists the individual wires and their corresponding terminals on the rear of the detector:
