Corona Detectors: Interfacing the detector with an UltiMate 3000 Pump
The Corona detectors can be operated with the various pump models of the UltiMate 3000 series. To enable operation synchronization between the instruments, a signal cable suitable for the respective pump model is required. In addition, the appropriate settings for the respective pump model have to be configured in the Chromeleon Server Configuration.
The table below provides an overview of the pump models that can be operated with a Corona detector and the cable type to be used:

Follow the steps described below for installing the signal cable suitable for your pump model and for configuring the pump settings in the Chromeleon Server Configuration.
To install the 6-pin Mini-DIN signal cable
The 6-pin Mini-DIN cable is required for interfacing an UltiMate 3000RS, SD, BM or BX pump with a Corona detector. The cable and wire connections are as follows:
To connect an ISO-3100SD/BM, LPG-3400SD/RS/BM, HPG-3x00SD/RS and HPG-3200BX pump, plug the 6-pin connector of the Mini-DIN cable into the Digital I/O port 1 (left port) of the pump.
–OR–
To connect a DGP-3600SD/RS/BM pump, the following step is required:
Select port 1 if the flow to the detector is delivered by the left pump head.
OR
Select port 2 if the flow to the detector is delivered by the right pump head.
For each relay output or digital input to be used, connect the appropriate signal wire to the corresponding connectors on the I/O connection block on the rear panel of the detector:
Connect the green and yellow wires to the Pump off connectors.
After you have finished these steps, configure the pump settings in the Server Configuration.
Settings in the Chromeleon Server Configuration
When setting up the pump in the Chromeleon Server Configuration program, configure the digital inputs on the Inputs tab page and the relay outputs on the Relays tab page as follows:
ISO-3100SD/BM, LPG-3400SD/RS/BM, HPG-3x00SD/RS and HPG-3200BX:
On the Inputs tab page, clear the Pump_Input_1 check box.
On the Relays tab page, clear the Pump_Relay_1 check box.
On the Relays tab page in the Pump Links section, also configure the following setting:
Select the Emergency Shutdown check box under Pump supports to enable automatic shutdown of the Corona detector in case the pump flow decreases to 0.
DGP-3600SD/RS/BM:
If the flow is delivered by the left pump head:
On the Inputs tab page, clear the Pump_Input_1 check box.
On the Relays tab page, clear the Pump_Relay_1 check box.
On the Relays tab page in the Pump Links section, also configure the following setting:
Select the Emergency Shutdown check box under Left Pump supports to automatically shutdown the Corona detector in case the flow of the left pump decreases to 0.
If the flow is delivered by the right pump head:
On the Inputs tab page, clear the Pump_Input_2 check box.
On the Relays tab page, clear the Pump_Relay_2 check box.
On the Relays tab page in the Pump Links section, also configure the following setting:
Select the Emergency Shutdown check box under Right Pump supports to automatically shutdown the Corona detector in case the flow of the right pump decreases to 0.
Note:
The Pump Links options are available in pump driver versions for Chromeleon 6.80 SR11d and later.
Tandem Operation
When operating an UltiMate 3000RS, SD, BM or BX pump in tandem mode two Mini-DIN signal cables are required. The cable connections and Server Configuration settings are as follows:
Plug the 6-pin connector of the first Mini-DIN cable into the Digital I/O port 1, and the second Mini-DIN cable into the Digital I/O port 2 of the pump.
On the opposite end of each cable, remove the cable end sleeves from the wires. Join the same-color wires together to form pairs of matching colored wires.
Plug each wire pair into the corresponding I/O connector of the detector as described above.
On the Inputs tab page in the Server Configuration, clear the Pump_Input_1 and Pump_Input_2 check boxes.
On the Relays tab page, clear the Pump_Relay_1 and Pump_Relay_2 check boxes.
To install the Shutdown cable
The Shutdown cable is required for interfacing all UltiMate 3000 pumps except RS, SD, BM BX, or XRS pumps. The cable and wire connections are as follows:
Plug the 25-pin D-Sub female connector of the Shutdown cable into the corresponding port at the rear of the pump.
Connect the separate wires on the other end of the cable to the corresponding connectors on the connection block on the rear panel of the detector (wires are labeled).
ISO-3100A, LPG-3400A/M/AB/MB, HPG-3200A/M/P and HPG-3400A/M:
Connect the Pump2 off and Pump1/2 off wires to the Pump off connectors.
DGP-3600A/M/AB/MB:
If the flow is delivered by the left pump head:
Connect the Pump1/2 off and Pump1 off wires to the Pump off connectors.
If the flow is delivered by the right pump head:
Connect the Pump1/2 off and Pump2 off wires to the Pump off connectors.
ISO-3100A, LPG-3400A/M/AB/MB, HPG-3200A/M/P and HPG-3400A/M:
On the Inputs tab page, clear the Pump_Input_2 check box.
On the Relays tab page, select the Pump_Relay_4 check box.
Double-click Pump_Relay_4. On the Device Configuration dialog box, click the arrow next to the Function list box and select FlowZero.
DGP-3600A/M/AB/MB:
If the flow is delivered by the left pump head:
On the Inputs tab page, clear the Pump_Input_1 check box.
On the Relays tab page, select the Pump_Relay_2 check box.
Double-click Pump_Relay_2. On the Device Configuration dialog box, click the arrow next to the Function list box and select FlowZero.
If the flow is delivered by the right pump head:
On the Inputs tab page, clear the Pump_Input_2 check box.
On the Relays tab page, select the Pump_Relay_4 check box.
Double-click Pump_Relay_4. On the Device Configuration dialog box, click the arrow next to the Function list box and select FlowZero.
