Installing and Controlling Thermo Scientific Devices
Finnigan/TSP UV1000 Detector: Installation

Device Type:

Single-channel UV detector

Device Driver:

Thermo Scientific: TSP UV1000 Detector (tested with firmware version 3.09)

What is required?

License:

Timebase Class 1

Connection:

  • A free RS-232 port and the following cable is required:

  • RS-232 cable (Dionex part no. 8914.0150A); for more information, refer to  TSP Cable.

Hardware
Prerequisites:

An A/D converter is required for data acquisition. A UCI Universal Chromatography Interface, including the appropriate signal cables, may be used.

 Tip:

It is not possible to control the UV1000 Detector via a UCI Universal Chromatography Interface or a USB-to-RS232 adapter. To control the detector, use a free RS-232 port on the PC. If more RS-232 ports are needed, install an RS-232 interface card. (For example, refer to Installing PC Plug-In Cards  Installing the Serial RS-232 Interface Card (Meilhaus).)
