Software Installation
Install the Device Driver in the Chromeleon Server Configuration:
First, turn on all modules of the 1200 HPLC System.
Tip:
The well-plate sampler and the fraction collector must be completely initialized before they can be connected in Chromeleon. Initialization takes approximately two minutes. Also, make sure that the door of the sampler/fraction collector is closed; otherwise, the initialization process will not start.
Start the Chromeleon server.
Start the Server Configuration program. (For more information about the program, refer to The Server Configuration Program.)
Add the 1200 HPLC System to the timebase. For details about how to add timebases and device drivers to the Server Configuration, refer to Adding, Configuring or Deleting Devices. When you add a driver to the timebase, the configuration dialog or wizard opens automatically. For information about the settings, click the Help button on a page or press F1.
On the Components tab, enter the TCP/IP address of the instrument and click Scan CAN to identify the installed modules.
After you have defined settings, click OK to exit the HP 1200 HPLC System dialog box. The server configures and automatically reconnects all HP 1200 modules.
To control the 1200 HPLC System, connect the Agilent_1200.pan Control Panel in the Chromeleon client to the corresponding timebase.
Note:
The Chromeleon Fraction Collection driver is not required to operate the Agilent fraction collector.
Troubleshooting
Problem: Configuration error after system upgrade
The following error may occur if new modules are added to an existing 1200 HPLC system configuration:
Error: Driver 'HP 1200 HPLC System': Selected port 'HP 1200 HPLC System\Ag1200InjectState' does not exist!
To resolve the error, proceed as follows:
Start the Chromeleon Server, then start the Chromeleon Server Configuration program.
Remove the HP 1200 HPLC driver from the timebase and save the configuration.
Reinstall the driver on the timebase and define settings as appropriate.
Save the configuration.
The problem should now be resolved.
