Tips for Privilege Assignment  

There are several dependencies and/or non-dependencies among the Privileges. The system administrator should consider these when assigning privileges to users. The topics below also describe two or three privileges for which a dependency can be assumed.

General tips

• All privileges are assigned separately. No privilege includes another privilege.

• Sequences are always treated as a whole. For example, a user who has the DeleteSEQ privilege can delete sequences. This action deletes the programs in the sequences, also, even if the user does not have the DeletePGM privilege.

• Directories are not treated as a whole. Thus, for example, a user who has the DeleteDIR privilege cannot delete a directory that contains a program unless the user has the DeletePGM privilege.
