Tips for Privilege Assignment
Move Privileges for Different File Types
Chromeleon provides the following Move privileges; they allow the user to:
MovePAN move Control Panels
MovePGM move PGM Files
MoveAuditTrail move Audit Trails
MoveDIR move directories
MoveQRY move Queries
MoveSEQ move Sequences
MoveSOR move signed sequences (SOR Files)
MoveQNT move Quantification Methods
MoveLIB move Spectra Libraries
MoveRDF move Report Definition Files
MoveWSP move Workspaces
Moving a file means to copy a file to a new position and then delete it from the original position afterward. However, there are no dependencies between the Move privileges and the Delete and Copy privileges. For example, a user who has the MovePGM privilege but not the CopyPGM and DeletePGM privileges is allowed to move a program from one folder to another.
On the other hand, a user who does not have a Move privilege can move a file by copying the file to the new position and deleting it at the previous position afterward. Therefore, it does not make sense to withhold the Move privilege from a user who has the Copy and Delete privileges.
