Autosampler Control
Defining Sample Positions (AS-AP)
The AS-AP sample carousel has three color-coded sections (red, green, and blue) that can hold three sample trays in any combination of tray types. Each color-coded section also accommodates a wedge-shaped vial holder that holds eight 10 ml vials.
Tip:
For information about which sample container types are supported and how to install and load them, refer to the operator's manual for the autosampler.
To configure the rack, well plate, or vial holder in Chromeleon
During initial installation of the autosampler, the carousel configuration is specified in the Server Configuration program (for details, refer to Segments/Pump Link). If you later install sample containers of a different type, be sure to update the settings. If there is a discrepancy between the configuration settings in Chromeleon and the sample containers installed in the carousel, the needle may be damaged.
Tip:
If necessary, also change the needle height after changing the sample container. For details, refer to Autosampler Control: Defining the Needle Height (AS-AP).
To specify the sample position in the sequence or for direct injection
Before an inject command, you must specify the sample position. For details, refer to Autosampler Control: Injecting a Sample.
There are two types of sample positions: fixed and relative. For details about how to define sample positions, refer to Sample Position Commands (AS-AP).
To check the sample status
You can display the vial positions for the selected sequence and check the Status of samples. For details, refer to Rack Preview.
