It depends on the context from which you have opened this dialog box whether you can select a report variable, e.g.:
for a Query or
for a System Suitability Test or
for a Sequence Report Column or
for defining Autopurification in a Post-Acquisition Step
Categories: |
Select a specific variable type. Only meaningful Report Categories are available. |

Variables: |
The list includes all variables of the previously selected category. Select the required variable with the mouse. The Parameter button is enabled, thus indicating that the variable provides further options. |

Explain Variable: |
Click this button to display a definition of the currently selected variable. |

|
Parameter: |
Click this button to change the additional parameters of the selected variable if necessary. |
|
|
Formula...: |
This field displays the mathematical expression of the variable selected above. The expression is used by Chromeleon to perform internal calculations. By linking several report variables via the four basic arithmetic operations, it is possible to create user-defined report variables (see: How to: Creating and Using Report Tables Linking Report Variables). Example: If the peak height should be put in relation to the corresponding amount, this can be expressed as follows: peak.height / peak.amount Note: The Additional Functions that are available in the Printer Layout, such as SUM or AVERAGE, are not supported here. |
