Hardware Installation

Device Settings

Prior to installing the autosampler in Chromeleon make sure that the signal cables between the autosampler and all other devices are connected correctly. Then, the whole system can be connected to the Chromeleon Server PC at once.

To connect the autosampler with the Chromeleon Server PC

First, install the Chromeleon software, and then connect the autosampler to the USB port on the Chromeleon Server PC using the Thermo Scientific USB 2.0 cable (part no. 6035.9035).

For connection details, refer to the Vanquish Autosampler Operating Manual.

Note:

For more information about connecting devices via USB, refer to Connecting Dionex Devices via USB.

To connect the Charger with the Chromeleon Server PC

First, make sure that the Chromeleon software is installed. When it comes to installation, the Charger is not handled as a separate device, as control of the Charger is established as part of the Vanquish Autosampler (VAS) control.

Note:

To ensure a secure transport of the sample racks or well plates from the Charger to the autosampler, it is necessary to establish a successful connection between these two devices. This can only be achieved by teaching the Charger with the help of a qualified Thermo Fisher Scientific Service Representative. In this case, contact your Thermo Fisher Scientific Service Representative.

There are two options to connect the Charger to the PC:

Note:

The PC must have at least two free USB ports.
