Chromeleon supports hardware synchronization between the autosampler, pump, and detector of the Thermo Scientific Accela system as provided by the appropriate Interconnect Cable from Thermo Scientific. Note that the installation procedure differs for systems that include an Accela Autosampler and systems that include an Accela Open Autosampler.
As an alternative, you can use the Accela system or individual Accela modules in a timebase without using hardware synchronization between Accela modules. In this case, Dionex recommends connecting a special synchronization cable from Dionex to send an inject response signal from the autosampler to Chromeleon. The advantage is that the inject time and the start of the Chromeleon program run time are synchronized. If hardware synchronization is used, all Accela modules are synchronized with each other, providing the best gradient and signal retention time reproducibility, but there may be a varying time delay between inject time and the Chromeleon program start time.
