Perkin Elmer: LC200 Diode Array Detector

Hardware Options

Supported:

The following options are supported:

  • Digital data acquisition for up to 2 individual channels at a data collection rate of 0.1-100Hz.

  • Setting general range and signal parameters

  • Performing an autozero before and during data acquisition

Restrictions:

The following options are not supported:

  • 3D data extraction

  • Control via network port

  • Control via UCI100/ UCI50 COM ports

  • Simultaneous data acquisition from two channels with 100 Hz each

What is required?

License:

Timebase Class 2
(no additional license required for 3D Data Acquisition, as 3D data extraction is currently not supported).

Connection:

Use a  Null Modem Cable (RS232 cable) with 9-pin connector to connect the detector to the PC.

 Tips:

If the PC has a 25-pin COM port, an adapter cable is required.

The detector cannot be controlled via UCI interface.

Caution:

Use the female 9-pin "Control" connector on the rear panel to connect the detector to the PC.

It is not possible to connect the detector to the PC via the (optional) IntegralLink card (neither on the serial port nor IEEE/GPIB port of the IntegralLink card).

Hardware

Prerequisites:

A free RS-232 port is required on the PC (or on a Multi-COM card).

Firmware

Prerequisites:

Tested with firmware A5.07

Control Panel:

PerkinElmer_LC200_PDA.pan

Software Installation

Install the Device Driver in the Chromeleon Server Configuration. (For more information about the program, refer to Software Installation and Communication  The Server Configuration Program.)

  1. Start the detector and the Chromeleon server.

  2. Start the Server Configuration program.

  3. Add the detector to the selected timebase. Select Add Device on the Edit or context menu, and then select Perkin Elmer from the Manufacturers list box and LC200 Diode Array Detector from the Devices list box.

  4. The following settings are required:

On the General tab page, select the general parameters, such as the device name and COM port. Also, verify that the Demo Mode is disabled.

     Tip:

It is currently not possible to check the server configuration details for the Series 200 Detector using the Check Server command. Name or address conflicts cannot be detected.

On the Signals tab page, define the settings for each signal.
Click OK to complete the installation.

  5. To control the detector, connect the PerkinElmer_LC200_PDA.pan Control Panel in the Chromeleon client to the corresponding timebase.
