Description

Device Name

Indicates the name under which the instrument is identified in the installation environment (default: UV; also, refer to Naming Devices ...). To control the instrument via the existing Control Panels, accept the default name. If you do not accept the default name, you may have to edit the PGM Files and re-link the corresponding control of the control panel. (Also, refer to Linking a Control to a Device.)

Virtual Mode

Select Virtual Mode if you are configuring a module for demonstration purposes only. Virtual mode lets you simulate module control and data acquisition without requiring the module to be connected to the server.

Select Read to read and display data from an existing demo file instead of real data.

Select Write to save the data currently delivered by the detector in a demo file. Data is recorded only for those channels that were selected in the list.

Select Off to disable the virtual mode.

Demo File

Virtual Mode = Read: Click the arrow next to the Virtual Mode File Name field and select the file from which to read data.

Virtual Mode = Write: Specify the file to which you want to write the data. Enter the file name in the Virtual Mode File Name input field or select a name from the drop-down list. If you specify an existing file, the data stored in this file will be overwritten.

NOTE: The default Demo file cannot be overwritten.

Serial COM Port

Enter the serial interface to which the device is connected into the text field.
