Nelson Interfaces: Installation
Hardware Installation
Software Installation
Install the Device Driver in the Chromeleon Server Configuration. (For more information about the program, refer to Software Installation and Communication The Server Configuration Program.)
Start the Chromeleon server.
Start the Server Configuration program.
Add the Nelson Interface to the selected timebase.(Select Add Device on the Edit or context menu, and then select Nelson (or Perkin Elmer) from the Manufacturers list box and 941 Interface (or 950/960/970 Interface) from the Devices list box.
The following settings are required:
On the General tab page, select the port address to which the interface is connected.
On the Remote Inject tab page, configure the integrated Remote Inject driver.
On the Signals tab page, you can make special settings for single signals.
Note:
The Nelson Box 901 is a single-channel version. Therefore, do not install the second channel that is provided by the driver!
On the Relays tab page, verify that the corresponding relays are selected by the check box.
Note:
As standard, the Nelson Box 901 has two relays only (Ready and Relay #1), but the Nelson 941 Interface driver also knows relays 2-7, which, however, are optionally available only.
The Error Levels tab page classifies the severity of any errors that occur. It is generally not necessary to change the default settings.
Application
