Option

Description

Device Name

Indicates the name under which the instrument is identified in the installation environment (default: UV; also, refer to Naming Devices...). To control the instrument via the existing Control Panels, accept the default name. If you do not accept the default name, you may have to edit the PGM Files and re-link the corresponding control of the control panel. (Also, refer to How to: Controlling Devices from the Control Panel  Linking a Control to a Device in the User Help section.)

Demo Mode

Select Off to disable the demo mode.

Select Read to read and display data from an existing demo file instead of real data. Select the demo file from the Demo File Name drop-down list.

Select Write to save the data currently delivered by the detector in a demo file. Enter the (directory and) file name in the Demo File Name input field.

Device Type

Select the device type: SPD-M10Avp or SPD-M20A.

Network IP Address

SPD-M20A only: Enter the IP address of the PDA detector in the network. (This is only possible if the selected demo mode is OFF or Write.)

SCSI ID

SPD-M10Avp only: Specify the SCSI-ID. The Shimadzu default value is 4. In case of doubt, see the Properties in the MS Windows Device Manager.

Start with hardware signal

Select this check box to enable triggering start of data acquisition commands using an external signal.

When the check box is cleared, data acquisition is started by Chromeleon.
Important:
In this case, remove the signal cable connecting the HPLC system with the Start input port of the detector. (The Stop signal cable must be removed in either case).

A/D-Board Installed

SPD-M10Avp only: Select the A/D Board Installed check box if the detector is equipped with an A/D board. The SPD-M20A is always equipped with an A/D board. Therefore, the A/D Board Installed option is activated by default.
