Dionex Detectors
Dionex UltiMate 3000 Series VWD, DAD and MWD Detectors: pH and Conductivity Monitor Commands

The commands listed below are available for the PCM-3000 pH and conductivity monitor. Please note that the display Filter level determines which commands and properties are displayed. In addition to these parameters, there are a number of read-only properties that give information about the monitor and its status.

pH_Temp, Temp, Cond and Cond_Temp channel commands

Command/Property

Description

AcqOn/Off

Start/stop data acquisition.

Average

Average all measured values over the Step interval.

CondResponseTime

Sets the Response Time of the conductivity signal. It can be set independently of the response time of the detector signal. Usually, the response time should be very small or turned off.

Delta

Indicates the signal slope, that is, the difference between the current value and the value one second ago; this is useful for Triggers.

pHResponseTime

Sets the Response Time of the pH signal. It can be set independently of the response time of the detector signal. Usually, the response time should be very small or turned off.

Signal

Reports the current signal value (read-only).

Retention

Reports the signal's retention time (read-only).

UV_PCM channel commands (pH and conductivity calibration commands)

Command/Property

Description

CellDeviation

Shift of the effective cell constant of the conductivity flow cell from the nominal flow cell. A cell deviation error indicates a calibration error or aging and/or contamination of the flow cell.

Value: Cell deviation calculated from current calibration values.

LowerLimit: Lower limit for the cell deviation. Calibration will fail if a lower value is calculated.

LowerWarning: Lower warning limit for the cell deviation. A warning appears in the Chromeleon Audit Trail when a lower value is found during calibration.

UpperLimit: Upper limit for the cell deviation. Calibration will fail if a higher value is calculated.

UpperWarning: Upper warning limit for the cell deviation. A warning appears in the Chromeleon Audit Trail when a higher value is found during calibration.

CondCalibLastDate

(Read-only) Indicates the date when the conductivity flow cell was calibrated last.

CondCalibrationProgress

(Read-only) Indicates the status of the conductivity calibration in progress. Shows Warning or Error if a cell deviation warning or limit is reached, or if another error occurred.

CondCalibStatus

(Read-only) Indicates the current status of conductivity calibration (NotCalibrated or Calibrated).

CondClearCalibrationPoints

Clears the stored conductivity calibration points. Execute before two-point calibration.

CondOnePointCalibration

Performs a conductivity one-point calibration. Enter the conductivity value of the calibration solution, and the related temperature value at which the conductivity applies.

CondReferenceTemp

Sets the reference temperature that is used for conductivity temperature compensation (default 25°C).

CondSetCalibrationPoint1/2

Enter the conductivity value of the first and second calibration solution, and the related temperature values at which the conductivity applies. Also, see CondTwoPointCalibration.

CondTempCompensation

Sets the temperature coefficient for conductivity temperature compensation. A temperature coefficient of 2%/°C provides good results for most common solvents. Select Off to turn temperature compensation off.

CondTwoPointCalibration

Performs a conductivity two-point calibration (the new calibration values are sent to the PCM-3000).

pHCalibLastDate

(Read-only) Indicates the date when the pH electrode was calibrated last.

pHCalibOffset

Shift of the zero point voltage of the pH electrode calibration curve.

LowerLimit: Lower limit for the offset. Calibration will fail if a lower value is calculated.

LowerWarning: Lower warning limit for the offset. A warning appears in the Chromeleon Audit Trail when a lower value is found during calibration.

UpperLimit: Upper limit for the offset. Calibration will fail if a higher value is calculated.

UpperWarning: Upper warning limit for the offset. A warning appears in the Chromeleon Audit Trail when a higher value is found during calibration.

pHCalibrationProgress

(Read-only) Indicates the status of the pH calibration in progress. Shows Warning or Error if a slope or offset warning or limit is reached, or if another error occurred.

pHCalibSlope

Slope of the pH electrode calibration curve.

LowerLimit: Lower limit for the slope. Calibration will fail if a lower value is calculated.

LowerWarning: Lower warning limit for the slope. A warning appears in the Chromeleon Audit Trail when a lower value is found during calibration.

UpperLimit: Upper limit for the slope. Calibration will fail if a higher value is calculated.

UpperWarning: Upper warning limit for the slope. A warning appears in the Chromeleon Audit Trail when a higher value is found during calibration.

pHCalibStatus

(Read-only) Indicates the current status of pH calibration (NotCalibrated or Calibrated).

pHClearCalibrationPoint

Clears the stored pH calibration points. Execute before two-point calibration.

pHOnePointCalibration

Performs a pH one-point calibration. Enter the pH value of the buffer solution, and the related temperature for external calibration, if required.

pHSetCalibrationPoint1/2

Enter the pH value of the first and second buffer solution, and the related temperature values for external calibration, if required. Also, see pHTwoPointCalibration.

pHTempCompensation

Turns pH temperature compensation on (Always) or off (Never).

pHTwoPointCalibration

Performs a pH two-point calibration (the new calibration values are sent to the PCM-3000).
