Description:

Retention reports the system retention time (System.Retention) and signal retention time (<Signal name>.Retention).

The system retention time indicates how much time has elapsed since sample injection. The signal retention time indicates when the last data transfer occurred. Not all devices transfer data continuously to the PC; some devices, e.g., detectors, transfer data packets only at certain times. The signal retention time is displayed in the online plot on the Control Panel.
