Dionex Autosamplers
Dionex AS-AP Autosampler: Commands for User-Defined Programs

The Dionex AS-AP provides various sample preparation commands that can be used to further define the sample preparation steps. The sample preparation commands are accessible from the Advanced level only. Use the  Program Wizard to create a user-defined sample preparation program. This program is started by the Inject command.

Chromeleon supports the following sample preparation commands (note that the display Filter level determines which commands and properties are displayed).

Command/Property

Description

UdpDispense

Dispenses a specified volume of liquid to a specified location. Select the following settings:

To: Enter the position to which the specified volume is delivered.

Volume: Enter the volume to be dispensed (0.0 to 100.0 µl).

SyringeSpeed: Specify the speed at which the volume is expelled (0.10 to 33.33 nl/s; option: GlobalSpeed here = DispSpeed).

SampleHeight: Determine the depth to which the needle descends into the sample container (0 to 40 mm; option: GlobalHeight = SampleHeight).

UdpDraw

Draws a specified volume of liquid from a specified location. Select the following settings:

From: Enter the position from which the specified volume is drawn.

Volume: Enter the volume to be drawn (0.0 to 100.0 µl).

SyringeSpeed: Specify the speed at which the volume is drawn (0.10 to 33.33 nl/s; option: GlobalSpeed here = DrawSpeed).

SampleHeight: Determine the depth to which the needle descends into the sample container (0 to 40 mm; option: GlobalHeight here = SampleHeight).

UdpInjectMarker

Generates an inject marker pulse. This is required in user-specific programs (when InjectMode = UserProg). The injection cannot be performed until after this pulse.

UdpInjectValve

Switches the injection valve to the specified position:
Inject
or Load.

UdpInjectValve2

Switches the second injection valve (if installed) to the specified position: Inject or Load.

UdpMixNeedleWash

Sets the volume of wash liquid that is used to rinse the needle during sample preparation.

UdpMixWait

Sets the system waiting period between sample
preparation steps.

UdpMoveSyringe

Moves the syringe. Enter the volume to be drawn in the Load field, or else enter the volume to be dispensed in the Unload field. Set only one of these parameters. Enter the speed for the syringe movement in the SyringeSpeed field.

 Tip:

Make sure both parameters appear on the same line of the PGM File. If they appear on different lines, the PGM File will not pass the Ready Check.

UdpMoveSyringeHome

Moves the syringe to the home position and empties it.

UdpOutput

Sets the specified output to the defined state. Select the output (Out1 ... Out4) and the state (On or Off) from the associated drop-down lists.

UdpSyringeValve

Switches the syringe valve to the specified position:
Needle
, Wash, or Waste.

UdpWaitInput

Waits until the specified input is in the selected state. Select the input (Inp1 ... Inp4) and the state (Low or High) from the associated drop-down lists.

UdpWaitStrokeSync

Waits with the continuation of a program for InjectMode = UserProg until the pump has sent the synchronization signal. (Also see PumpDevice, SyncWithPump.)
