Create Purification Samples Wizard:
Extended Sample Properties

Use this dialog box to determine more properties for the purification samples (sample type: Preparation):

Purification sample position:

Determine the position for the samples to be purified.

Tray:

Use analytic sample tray:

Uses the tray used during the preanalysis, i.e., the tray containing the analytical samples.

Use fixed tray:

In the field next to this option, click the arrow and select the tray to be used from the list.

 Tip:

You can select a tray only if a connection exists to the timebase and if either the autosampler or target program is known. (The target program is defined on the Conditional Program or Sample Properties page.)

Get from user-defined column

Reads the tray from a User-defined Column in the sample list.

In the field next to the option, click the arrow and select the column from the list.

 Tip:

Only user-defined columns of the types Enumeration or String can be used.

Vial:

Same as analytic sample vial

Uses the same vial position, even on a different tray, as for the analytical sample.

Get from user-defined column:

Reads the vial position from a user-defined column. In the field next to the option, click the arrow and select the column from the list.

 Tip:

Only user-defined columns of the types Integer, Enumeration or String can be used.

Number of preparative injections:

Determine the number of preparative injections.

Fixed number:

Always performs the same number of preparative injections. Enter the number in the field.

Compute number:

Computes the number of injections from the injection volume and the sample volume.

Inject volume:

Indicates the injection volume set on the Sample Properties page.

Sample volume:

Enter the total volume for the sample to be purified or enter a different, usually fixed, volume. You may also click the {..} button and select a variable from the different Report Categories in the Insert/Edit Sequence Name Label Variable dialog box. (A user-defined column is especially useful for this.)

Example:

If the injection volume is 10 µL and the sample volume if 27 µL, two 10 µl injections and one 7 µl injection will be performed.

 Note:

If you entered a formula for which does not produce a numerical result, a sample is created with the injection volume defined under Inject volume (see above).
