Dialog Box:
Insert Label/Insert Caption

If you double-click a variable, this dialog box is named Edit Label or Edit Caption.

The exact name of the dialog box depends on the context from which it is opened:

Select certain report variables as peak labels and/or captions.

 

Categories:

Select a specific variable type from the Categories list (see Report Categories). For example, sequence and sample variables are available.

 

 

Variables:

The list displays all variables of the currently selected category. Select the variable with the mouse. If the Parameter button is enabled, additional settings are available for the variable.

 

 

Parameter:

Click this button to display additional settings for a variable.

 

 

Explain Variable:

Click this button to display a definition of the currently selected variable.

 

The Formula, Precision, Append Dimension, and Label Formula Preview fields define the appearance of the variables.

 

Formula...:

The displayed formula name characterizes the variable and corresponds to the mathematical definition of this value.

In order to form a new variable, the formula name can be linked with other formula names from the Variables list and with mathematical symbols.

 

 

Precision:

Enter the number of decimal places for the variable.

 

 

Append Dimension:

Select this option to display the dimensions of the variable.

 

 

Label Formula Preview:

This field displays the formula that appears on the Peak Label tab page of the Chromatogram Decoration dialog box.
