Commands and Tips for Thermo Scientific Devices
Thermo Scientific Accela Series: Pump

The following commands and properties are available for the Accela pump (please note that the display Filter level determines which commands and properties are displayed).

Also, refer to the information in the manual shipped with the instrument.

General Commands and Properties:

Command Property

Description

BoardNumber

Board number of the pump (read-only).

Connect

Connects the instrument to Chromeleon.

Connected

Indicates whether the instrument is connected to Chromeleon, that is, under computer control (also, see Connect, Disconnect).

Disconnect

Disconnects the instrument from Chromeleon and activates manual control from the instrument panel. Also see Connect.

DriverID

Unambiguous driver name (read-only).

DriverVersion

Driver version (read-only).

FirmwareVersion

Indicates the firmware version of the instrument (read-only).

Manufacturer

Manufacturer of the driver (read-only).

ModelNo

Reports the instrument's model number (read-only).

SerialNo

Indicates the serial number of the instrument (read-only).

Commands and Properties for flow and  pressure:

Command/Property

Description

%A, %B, %C, %D

Percentage of each solvent component.

*.Equate

Name of the component (A, B, C, or D).

*.Value

Current value [%] for components A, B, C, or D (read-only).

Flow

Sets the flow rate [ml/min].

*.Nominal

Reports the nominal flow.

*.Value

Reports the current flow (read-only).

Pressure

Pump pressure.

*.LowerLimit

Sets the lower pressure limit. The system stops the sample batch and starts emergency handling if the value is outside the set range.

*.UpperLimit

Sets the upper pressure limit. The system stops the sample batch and starts emergency handling if the value is outside the set range.

*.Value

Indicates the current pump pressure (read-only).

PressureMode

(Accela Pump only) Sets the pump's pressure mode: Low for working in the high pressure range (~0-500 bar / 0-7000 PSI), or High for working in the ultra-high pressure range (~500-1000 bar / 7000-15.000 PSI).

Note:

You may specify a default setting for the PressureMode property on the Thermo Accela Pump Configuration page in the Chromeleon Server Configuration. Upon each Connect command, the property will be reset to the specified default.

Commands and Properties for leak sensor and purge pump (Accela 600 and Accela 1250 only):

Note:

Support of the Accela 600 and 1250 Pumps is available starting with the SR11 Driver Update that provides extended Accela system support.

Command/Property

Description

Compressibility

Indicates the compressibility of the current solvent composition (read-only).

Leak

Indicates the status of the leak sensor (read-only).

LeakMode

Specify the action that is taken when a leak is detected.

Ignore:a warning appears in the Audit Trail; the run continues

StopImmediately: the pump is stopped immediately

StopAfterRun: the pump is stopped after the current sample run is finished.

AbortImmediately: issues an abort error immediately; use a Chromeleon emergency program to define how the system reacts.

AbortAfterRun: issues an abort error after the current sample run is finished; use a Chromeleon emergency program to define how the system reacts.

For details about an emergency program for the Accela pump, refer to  Thermo Scientific Accela Pump: Emergency Program.

PurgePump

Activates or deactivates the purge pump.
