AS-DV Sample Preparation Options: General Parameters

Option

Description

Delivery Speed

Determines the speed at which the sample is delivered to the sample loop or concentrator column. In general, a faster speed is used for delivery to a sample loop and a slower speed for delivery to a concentrator column. Chromeleon sets an appropriate default speed, depending on whether Loop Mode or Concentrator Mode is selected. You can change the speed, if required for your application.

Delay Volume

Specifies the volume from the tip of the sampling needle to the injection valve. The Delay Volume is set in the Server Configuration program. Refer to Options (AS-DV Autosampler Dialog Box).

Cycle Time

To set a uniform time between injections, select this check box and enter the number of minutes. The time between injections is never shorter than the specified cycle time. However, if the previous program is still running when the cycle is over, cycle time will be ignored.

Clear this check box to let the commands entered in the program determine the time between injections.

Flush Factor

Flush Factor is used in the formula that determines the volume of sample delivered from the vial. For details, see the description of the Total Volume Delivered Estimator below.

If Loop Mode is selected, select a Flush Factor suitable for your application. If Concentrator Mode is selected, the Flush Factor is always 1.
