SmartShutdown
SmartShutdown is a feature that can automatically shut down the chromatography system or set it to standby mode. A SmartShutdown program can be created with the help of a Wizard.
A typical SmartShutdown process includes the following steps (there may be additional steps, depending on the device configuration):
The flow rate is reduced (standby) or stopped (shutdown) automatically at the end of the program. To avoid damage to columns, the SmartShutdown wizard ensures that the flow is not interrupted at high column temperatures.
The detector lamp is turned off (optional for standby programs).
Temperature-controlled devices (such as column thermostats, thermostatted autosamplers, and heated conductivity cells) are cooled down (standby) or the temperature control is turned off (shutdown).
SmartShutdown is available for UltiMate 3000 (excluding nano and cap modules) and Summit HPLC systems, the ICS-3000 IC system, the ICS-5000 IC system, the ICS-Series AS-AP Autosampler, the ICS-Series Photodiode Array Detector, and the ICS-Series Variable Wavelength Detector.
In combination with a SmartStartup program and a dual system (for example, an UltiMate 3000 x2 Dual-Gradient System, an ICS-3000 dual system, or an ICS-5000 dual system) you can use a standby program to quickly switch between different methods of analysis on the same system.
