The Control Program
The SmartShutdown Wizard

The SmartShutdown Wizard helps you to create a shutdown or standby program. To open the SmartShutdown Wizard, click SmartShutdown... on the Batch menu.

Depending on the installation, the wizard includes a number of steps in which you can define all the required parameters.

SmartShutdown is currently supported for the Summit, UltiMate 3000 and Vanquish (excluding the modules for nano and cap) HPLC systems, and the following IC systems and modules: ICS-3000, ICS-5000, ICS-Series Photodiode Array Detector, ICS-Series Variable Wavelength Detector, and AS-AP Autosampler.

Note:

The CreatePGM, MonitorTimeBase, and RunBatch privileges are required to use the SmartShutdown Wizard. If you do not have these privileges, you will not be able to open the wizard or connect to a timebase.

For information about how to create a shutdown or standby program using the SmartShutdown Wizard, and about the individual wizard steps, refer to  Shutting Down the Chromatography System (SmartShutdown).

You can configure the chromatography system to automatically awake from standby mode, so that the system is ready for operation within a very short time, by using the SmartShutdown function in connection with the SmartStartup function.

For an overview of how to equilibrate the system with SmartStartup, refer to  Equilibrating the Chromatography System (SmartStartup).
