Appendix: Cables and Pin Assignments

To operate the instruments, various types of cables are required:

• Power cables (Refer to the information in the manufacturer's installation instructions shipped with the instrument.)

• Control cables (mainly RS-232 cables; most of these are available from Dionex - see below).

 Tip:  

A 9-pin connector is usually required on the PC/UCI. However, if an Equinox card is installed on your PC, 25-pin control cables are required.

• A/D cables (Required for analog data acquisition, e.g., with the UCI Universal Chromatography Interface, UI20 Universal Interface, Nelson Interfaces)

Different control cables are required to control the third-party devices by the various Device Drivers. For more information about these cables, refer to:
