Connection:

 

RS-232 cable with special cable adapter (Dionex part no. 8914.0154 (cable and adapter) or 8914.0155 (adapter)) to connect the sampler to the PC.

 Tips:  

If the PC has a 25-pin COM port, an adapter cable is required.

The autosampler cannot be controlled via a UCI interface.

Caution:

It is not possible to connect the autosampler to the PC via the (optional) IntegralLink card (neither on the serial port nor the IEEE/GPIB port of the IntegralLink card).

A free RS-232 port is required on the PC (or on the Multi-COM card).

Hardware Installation

Tip:

Before connecting the autosampler, remove all hardware synchronization cables, except the cable that connects the Ready Out port of the pump with the external Ready In port of the Autosampler.

Use a RS232 cable with 9-pin connector and an additional adapter (Dionex part no. 8914.0154) to connect the sampler to the PC. (Note: the adapter can be ordered separately with part no. 8914.0155).

Caution:

Software Installation

Install the Device Driver in the Chromeleon Server Configuration. (For more information about the program, refer to Software Installation and Communication  The Server Configuration Program.)

  1. Start the autosampler and the Chromeleon server.

  2. Start the Server Configuration program.

  3. Add the autosampler to the selected timebase. Select Add Device on the Edit or context menu, and then select Perkin Elmer from the Manufacturers list box and LC200 Autosampler from the Devices list box.

  4. The following settings are required:

    On the Configuration tab page, select the general parameters, such as the device name, COM port and syringe. Also, verify that the Demo Mode is disabled.

    Click OK to complete the installation.

  5. To control the sampler, connect the PerkinElmer_LC200AS.pan Control Panel in the Chromeleon client to the corresponding timebase.
