Kontron SFM25 Fluorescence Detector: Installation
Hardware Installation
Software Installation
Install the Device Driver in the Chromeleon Server Configuration. (For more information about the program, refer to Software Installation and Communication The Server Configuration Program.)
Start the Chromeleon server.
Start the Server Configuration program.
Add the detector to the timebase. Select Add Device on the Edit or context menu, and then select Kontron from the Manufacturers list box and Kontron_SFM25_Fluorescence_Detector from the Devices list box.
The following settings are required:
On the Kontron_SFM25_Fluorescence_Detector tab page, verify that the Demo Mode is disabled.
On the Generic tab page, enter a name for the fluorescence detector. In addition, specify the COM port to which the fluorescence detector is connected.
The Error Levels tab page classifies the severity of any errors that occur. It is generally not necessary to change the default settings.
To control the detector, connect the kontsfm25.pan Control Panel in the Chromeleon client to the corresponding timebase.

Note:
Use the Autoblank (zero value) and Calibrate (maximum value) commands of the Kontron SFM25 to adjust the range factor in Chromeleon.
Tip:
When the PC is powered up, incorrect characters may be generated. If this occurs, an error message is displayed. To reset the Kontron instruments:
Start your PC.
Wait until booting is complete.
Start your instruments.
Start the server application.
