Installing the ME14 (ISA) Digital I/O Card
Tips:
Due to its obsolete technology, the ME14 ISA card is no longer available for purchase from Dionex. However, ME14 (ISA) cards may still be used in the field. Therefore, refer to the installation instructions below if necessary.
This card is not supported under Windows Vista or later.
The digital I/O cards support 24 remote inputs and outputs, respectively, on TTL level. In Chromeleon, the card's 24 channels are alternatively configured as remote inputs or outputs (as block in groups of 8 inputs or outputs each). On the ISA bus, 16 successive I/O addresses are required.
Set the card's base address via the DIP switches.
Turn off the computer and then install the card in an 8- or 16-bit ISA slot. Ensure adequate protection against electrostatic discharge!
The remote inputs of the card are located on a 37-pin sub-D connector (included in the delivery) on the PC. For information about the pin assignment, refer to the Meilhaus manual.

To configure and assign the remote inputs and outputs, install the Shared Relays and Inputs driver (INPREL.CDD). Select the timebase in which you want to install the driver, and then select Add Device on the Edit or context menu. Select General from the Manufacturers list box and Shared Relays and Inputs from the Devices list box. Add and assign the relays and remote inputs on the corresponding tab pages.
Note:
The connectors on the ME1400 and ME14 filler brackets are different. Therefore, cables that are suitable for the ME14 cannot be used with the ME1400.
Also, see Selecting an I/O Address (ME14/ISA).
To use the card with Chromeleon, install the Dionex Digital I/O ISA Board (ME14) in the Server Configuration program under Sharable Devices.
Enter the I/O basic address into the driver configuration.
On the Port Configuration tab page, define whether to use the ports as outputs or as inputs. You can change the port type only if no other device in your configuration is currently using this port. .
