Installing the ME14 (ISA) Digital I/O Card
Selecting the I/O Address

 Tips:

Due to its obsolete technology, the ME14 ISA card is no longer available from Dionex. However, ME14 (ISA) cards may still be used in the field. Therefore, refer to the installation instructions below if necessary.

This card is not supported under Windows Vista or later.

On the digital I/O card ME14, there is a DIP switch block (dual inline package) for configuring the I/O address of the card. The default setting is 300H (standard). To avoid conflicts with other Dionex cards, Dionex recommends changing the setting to 340H.

For information about how the six switches are assigned to the binary digits, refer to the table below:

Switch

Setting

Function

 1

 OFF

 512

 2

 OFF

 256

 3

 ON

 128

 4

 OFF

 64

 5

 ON

 32

 6

 ON

 16

An open switch (OFF) corresponds to a binary 1, a closed switch (ON) to a binary 0. According to the table, the setting on the card corresponds to the following base address:

64 + 256 + 512 = 832 (decimal) = 340H (hexadecimal).
