Description

Device Name

Indicates the name under which the instrument is identified in the installation environment (default: GC; also, refer to Naming Devices...). To control the instrument via the existing Control Panels, accept the default name. If you do not accept the default name, you may have to edit the PGM Files and re-link the corresponding control of the control panel. (Also, refer to How to: Controlling Devices from the Control Panel  Linking a Control to a Device.)

GC IP Address

Enter the IP address or hostname of the GC.

Chromeleon Server PC IP

Click Retrieve Configuration from GC to automatically obtain the IP address of the Chromeleon Server to which the GC is connected. The GC IP address is required to enable reception of acquisition data.

Tip:

Should Chromeleon not be able to retrieve the Server IP address automatically, you may also type the IP address in the box. If more than one network card is installed in the Server PC resulting in multiple IP addresses, the correct IP address can be determined as follows: Verify to which network card the GC is connected and then select the appropriate IP address.

If you have problems to specify the correct IP address, please see your Network Administrator.
