Option

Description

VWD Type / DAD Type / MWD Type

Select the installed detector type.

Device Name

Indicates the name under which the instrument is identified in the installation environment (also, see Naming Devices). The default name is UV. To control the instrument from the existing Control Panels, accept the default name.

If the default device name is already used, a red warning symbol and an error message appear in the Audit Trail. In this case, assign the detector a new device name. If you assign a different name, you must edit the PGM Files and re-link the corresponding controls on the control panel. (Also, refer to Controlling Devices from the Control Panel  Linking a Control to a Device.)

UV Lamp

As a standard, the detector is shipped with a deuterium lamp. Therefore, the check box is selected by default.

VIS Lamp

Select this check box if the detector is equipped with a tungsten lamp.

DAC Board

(ICS-Series VWD only) Select this check box if the DAC plug-in module is installed. The module is available as an option to connect an external evaluation device. Only if the check box selected, the related commands and properties will be available in the Commands dialog box for the detector.

Board Extension

(UltiMate3000 VWD, DAD and MWD only) If an expansion board is installed in the detector, click the related option to be able to control the board. The related commands and properties will become available in the Commands dialog box for the detector.

Click None (default) if no expansion board is installed.

Click DAC if the DAC plug-in board is installed. The board is available as an option to provide two analog outputs; e.g., to connect an external evaluation device.

Click PCM if the PCM-3000 pH and conductivity monitor is installed. The PCM tab page appears, where you can change the PCM channel properties.

Note that control of a board may require a minimum firmware version.
