Chromeleon Installation Qualification

The CmIQ.exe program located in the Chromeleon IQ directory is referred to as the Installation Qualification Manager. After each main setup, i.e., after the initial installation or an update to a new version (see Software Installation and Communication  Initial Installation), the Installation Qualification (IQ) Manager automatically checks the current installation. You can also start this check manually or automatically at a defined time. CMIQ.EXE after Setup

After copying all files and completing Setup, the program is automatically started. CmIQ.exe generates an ASCII report that can be read using the Windows Notepad or any other word processor. The report is saved to the IQReport.log file; it provides information about:

The data is compared to the data in a write-protected list (iqdata.dat) supplied with the setup. If the lists are identical, successful installation of Chromeleon is confirmed. When there are differences, a note, a warning, or an error message appears indicating the following:

OK:  No action is required. The installation corresponds to the expected data.

Note: No action is required. The file date is different. The note appears only because the file was compared to the file in the list supplied with the setup. The difference should not impair Chromeleon functionality.

Warning: Usually, no action is required. If a problem occurs nevertheless, contact Dionex Service.

A warning appears when the file size or the version differs from the expected size or version. For example, this may happen if newer versions of system files have been installed during the installation of other programs and if Chromeleon uses these files as well. It is unlikely that such an update impairs Chromeleon functionality. The warning appears to facilitate troubleshooting just in case a problem occurs.

Error: The corresponding file is missing or the version of the file is not correct. Please contact Dionex Service.

 Tip: 

If a new IQ report is generated, any former IQ report (if available) is saved as IQReport[Number].log. Only the latest report does not have a number. In this way, you can also examine all previous IQ reports at any time.
