Validation and Qualification
Starting Chromeleon Installation Qualification Manually
Specific system files (DLL) that are used by several programs are sometimes overwritten when you install or update other software packages. As Chromeleon also uses these files, this may impair the functionality of the software.
In this case, you may start Chromeleon Installation Qualification outside the Setup routine. Select Chromeleon IQ… on the Qualification menu. Or else, click Start > Programs > Chromeleon and select Installation Qualification (IQ).
Tip:
For a correct system check of all files, be sure that all applications are shut down (not just the Chromeleon applications). Do not forget to close the Server and the Server Monitor Program.
There are three options:
Check Installation: |
Checks the files of your Chromeleon version and the required Windows system files. Select the type and extent of the check and documentation: Normal: Checks the Setup (generates: IQReport.log - previous files are numbered and also saved). Extended: Compares the installation status with the saved status (see: Accept and Save System Status - generates: ChkStatus.log). Tip: To perform Extended IQ, click Accept and Save System Status to save the system status first. Define the scope of the report (Normal or Extended): Full: Checks and reports all files. Short: Checks all files. The report includes files with errors and warnings only. |
System Information: |
Generates the system information about the Chromeleon installation (generates: Sysinfo.log) |
Accept and Save System Status: |
Accepts and saves the current system status (generates: Status.dat). Click this button to save the names and versions of all Chromeleon installation files that are located in the Windows system directory and in the Bin directory. If you have accepted and saved the system status once, the saved status can be used as the basis for the file check (see Check Installation/Extended) instead of the comparison list (iqdata.dat). Tip: Dionex recommends that you save the status using the Accept and Save System Status command whenever you update Chromeleon. |
