Commands and Tips for Third-Party Devices
Perkin Elmer Series 200 UV/VIS Detector
Chromeleon provides the commands and parameters from the table below (please note that the display Filter level determines which commands and properties are displayed) to control the Series 200 UV/VIS Detector. Also, refer to the information in the detector's User's Manual.
General Commands and Properties
Command/Property |
Description |
Connect |
Connects the device to Chromeleon |
Connected |
Indicates whether the instrument is connected to Chromeleon, that is, under computer control (also, see Connect, Disconnect) |
Disconnect |
Disconnects the instrument from Chromeleon and activates manual control from the instrument panel. |
DriverID |
Unambiguous driver name (read-only). |
DriverVersion |
Driver version (read-only). |
FirmwareVersion |
Indicates the firmware version of the instrument (read-only). |
ModelNo |
Reports the instrument's model number (read-only). |
Manufacturer |
Manufacturer of the driver (read-only). |
SerialNo. |
Indicates the serial number of the instrument (read-only). |
Detector Commands:
Command/Property |
Range/Value |
Description |
Autozero |
|
Sets the value of the output signal to 0. |
DisplayOperationTime |
0-99999 |
Reports the number of hours the display has been on (read-only). |
Lamp |
On, Off |
Switches the lamp on or off. |
LampOperationTime |
0-9999 |
Reports the number of hours the lamp has been on (read-only). |
OperationTimeSinceCalibration |
0-999 |
Reports the number of operating hours since the last calibration (read-only) |
Ready |
Ready, NotReady |
Indicates whether the instrument is ready for injection (read-only). |
UV_VIS Channel Commands:
Command/Property |
Range/Value |
Description |
AcqOn/AcqOff |
|
Start and end times for data acquisition. |
DataCollectionRate |
0.2 - 50.0 samples/s |
Specifies the data acquisition rate in samples/seconds. |
Delta |
-3.11-3.11 mAU/s |
Reports the signal's slope, i.e., the difference between the current value and the value one second ago (read-only). This is useful for triggers. |
LampType |
Deuterium (UV), Tungsten (VIS), Unknown |
Reports the type of lamp installed in the detector (read-only). |
PeakWidth |
0.10 - 25.00s |
Specifies the amount of smoothing to apply to the chromatogram. Depending on the setting, the RiseTime (see below) is changed automatically. Select a value: 0.10s (RiseTime = 0.02s) 0.25s (RiseTime = 0.05s) 0.50s (RiseTime = 0.10s) 1.00s (RiseTime = 0.20s) 2.50s (RiseTime = 0.50s) 5.00s (RiseTime = 1.00s) 10.0s (RiseTime = 2.00s) 25.0s (RiseTime = 5.00s) |
Retention |
|
Reports the retention time of the signal (read-only). |
RiseTime |
0.02 - 5.00s |
Specifies how quickly the detector responds to a change in signal (read-only). The Rise Time defines how long it takes for an outgoing signal to rise from 10% to 90% of the end value. A large rise time will reduce the short term noise, but will affect the peak height and symmetry. |
Signal |
|
Reports the current signal value [mAU] (read-only). |
Wavelength |
|
Sets the wavelength (the available range is from 190 to 700 nm). |
