Commands and Tips for Third Party Devices
Agilent 7683 Autosampler
In addition to General Device Commands, the following commands and properties are available for the rear and front injectors under Sampler (please note that the display Filter level determines which commands and properties are displayed):
Property |
Description |
Depth |
Position of the needle in the vial. The default position is about 3.6 mm from the bottom of the vial. The default position is the reference of all other positions. |
DualInject |
Turns the dual injection on and off. When dual injection is activated, an injection will be performed on both injectors simultaneously. |
Mode |
Indicates the injection mode as specified in the installation. |
Post_a |
Indicates how often the syringe is rinsed with solvent from the solvent reservoir A after the injection. |
Post_b |
Indicates how often the syringe is rinsed with solvent from the solvent reservoir B after the injection. |
PostDwell |
Time that the needle remains in the inlet after the injection before it is withdrawn. |
Pre_a |
Indicates how often the syringe is rinsed with solvent from the solvent reservoir A prior to the injection. |
Pre_b |
Indicates how often the syringe is rinsed with solvent from the solvent reservoir B prior to the injection. |
PreDwell |
Time that the needle remains in the inlet before the piston moves to inject the sample. If this value is nonzero, one injector stop of air is drawn (except at maximum injection volume, i.e., five stops). |
Present |
Indicates whether the device is connected to the data system and under computer control. |
Prewash |
Indicates how often the syringe is rinsed with the sample prior to the injection. |
Pumps |
Indicates the how often the pressure plunger of the syringe is moved up and down while the needle is in the sample. This is to expel gas bubbles and to enhance the reproducibility. |
Speed |
Average piston speed (only during injection). Fast: approx. 100 µl/s (using a 10µl syringe). |
StopInject |
Stops the running injection. Note: |
Syringe |
Indicates the syringe type as specified in the installation. Note: Other values in the given range are accepted. Agilent provides syringes in the listed sizes. Tip: The device does not automatically detect a change of syringe volume. To change the syringe volume, enter the desired value in the corresponding field on the panel to ensure that the correct volumes are injected. |
Viscosity |
Number of seconds the pressure plunger of the syringe pauses after the pump and injection strokes. This pause allows viscous samples to flow into the vacuum created in the syringe. |
