Dionex Autosamplers
Dionex AS-HV Autosampler

In addition to the standard autosampler commands (see  Dionex Autosamplers), the Dionex AS-HV Autosampler supports several additional commands for controlling autosampler functions. The following commands are available (please note that the display Filter level determines which commands and properties are displayed).

Special Commands for the AS-HV

Command

Description

ArmSpeed

Set the speed of the sampling arm. If septum-capped vials are loaded, always select Septum (the slowest speed).

DelayVolume

The volume of the sample loop.

GotoPosition

Moves the needle to the specified sample position.

Inject

Injects the sample.

NeedleDown

Lowers the needle.

NeedleHeight

Sets the distance between the needle and the vial bottom (0 is the lowest needle position; 160 is the highest position).

NeedleHome

Moves the needle to the home position.

PrepareNextSample

(Sample overlap programs only) Rinses the sample loop or concentrator column and, if a sample loop is installed, loads the next sample onto the loop.

 Note:

Chromeleon ignores the PrepareNextSample command if this is the last sample of a sequence, or if the next program is a blank run.

Rinse

Rinses the sample loop and the sampling needle.

RinseAndPrefill

Rinses the sample loop and then loads the delay volume onto the loop.

RinseSource

Reports the source of wash fluid for the rinse station (read-only).

SampleLoadingPump

Reports the sample loading pump selected in the AS-HV configuration properties (read-only).

SampleLoadingType

Reports whether sample will be loaded onto a sample loop or a concentrator column (read-only).

SamplesRackType

Identifies the type of sample rack installed (read-only).

SerialNo

Displays the serial number of the AS-HV (read-only).

StandardsRackType

Identifies the type of standards rack installed (read-only).

WashPumpOff

Turns off the rinse station’s peristaltic pump (through Relay A).

WashPumpOn

Turns on the rinse station’s peristaltic pump (through Relay A).

Special Commands for the Syringe Pump

The following commands are available when the syringe pump is selected as the AS-HV sample loading pump.

Command

Description

FlushAspirateSpeed

Specifies the speed at which the sampling needle is filled with wash fluid. For details, refer to the Note below.

RinseVolume

Specifies the volume of wash fluid used to rinse the sampling needle.

SampleAspirateSpeed

Specifies the speed at which the syringe is filled with sample. For details, refer to the Note below.

SyringeAspirate

Specifies the speed at which the syringe aspirates sample.

SyringeDispense

Specifies the speed at which the syringe dispenses sample. For details, refer to the Note below.

SyringeReset

Resets the syringe to its default values.

SyrPumpPosition

Reports the position of the syringe pump plunger (read-only).

SyrPumpStatus

Reports the status of the syringe pump: whether the pump is busy and whether an error condition has been detected (read-only).

SyringeSize

Reports the syringe volume (read-only).

ValvePosition

Sets the position of the three-way distribution valve in the syringe pump.

WashPortDispenseSpeed

Specifies the speed at which wash fluid is dispensed through the sampling needle. For details, refer to the Note below.

WasteDispenseSpeed

Specifies the speed at which liquid is directed to waste.

 Note:

There are two syringe speeds (fast and slow), and each speed has 10 levels. The actual flow rate depends on the command, the speed setting, and the syringe size. For more information, refer to the AS-HV operator’s manual.

Special Commands for the AXP Pump

The following commands are available when the AXP pump is selected as the AS-HV sample loading pump.

Command

Description

AxpCurrentSetup

Reports the AXP pump configuration and the status of several operating parameters (read-only). To display details, click the plus sign beside this command.

AxpState

Turns the AXP pump on and off.

Flow

Sets the flow rate for the AXP pump.

Pressure.LowerLimit

Sets the lower pressure limit for the AXP pump. For details, refer to the Note below.

Pressure.UpperLimit

Sets the upper pressure limit for the AXP pump. For details, refer to the Note below.

Pressure.Value

Reports the current AXP pump pressure (read-only). For details, refer to the Note below.

RinseVolume

Specifies the volume of wash fluid used to rinse the sampling needle.

 Note:

To display this command, click the plus sign beside the Pressure command.

Special Commands for the Internal Peristaltic Pump

The following commands are available when the internal peristaltic pump is selected as the AS-HV sample loading pump.

Command

Description

Flow

Sets the flow rate for the internal peristaltic pump.

InternalPumpOff

Turns off the internal peristaltic pump.

InternalPumpOn

Turns on the internal peristaltic pump.

IntPumpDirection

Specifies the direction of operation for the internal peristaltic pump.

RinseVolume

Specifies the volume of wash fluid used to rinse the sampling needle.

Special Commands for a Relay-Controlled Pump

The following commands are available when an external relay-controlled pump is selected as the AS-HV sample loading pump.

Command

Description

Flow

Sets the flow rate for the relay-controlled pump.

RinseVolume

Specifies the volume of wash fluid used to rinse the sampling needle.
