Tab Dialog Box:
Batch List

This tab page displays the names of the Sequences and programs currently queued in one Batch. An empty field indicates that no sequences are currently in the queue.

Combining Sequences (and Programs) in a Batch

Starting the Batch

You can start the batch as soon as the first required sequence is included in the batch list and any necessary settings are entered on the Reporting and Error Handling tab pages. If desired, you can add more sequences after the batch starts.

  1. Click Ready Check to make sure that all files required for the batch (PGM/QNT Files) exist and that all analytical instruments are ready, etc.

     Tip:

Before performing a Ready Check, the system always asks you whether to accept previously entered changes, even if these changes refer to a sequence that is not part of the batch you wish to start and/or check. Decide whether to accept the changes or not. If you want to check the changes first, cancel the batch start or the Ready Check.

  2. Click Start to start batch processing.

A green triangle identifies the sequence currently being processed.

Delaying the Start of a Sequence

You can postpone the start of a sequence until a specific date/time.

  1. Select the sequence and click Set Delay.

  2. In the Set Delayed Start Time and Date dialog box, select the Set Delayed Start of Sequence check box. Specify the start date and time and click OK.

  3. Click Start.

Creating a New Shutdown Program

  1. On the Batch List tab, click Shutdown.

  2. Click Create New Shutdown Program… to open the SmartShutdown Wizard. The wizard provides step-by-step instructions for creating a shutdown program.

     Tips:

After the program is created, it is automatically added to the selection list that drops down when you click the Shutdown… button. (The list can include up to 25 programs.)

Adding a Shutdown Program to the Batch List

To add an existing shutdown program to the batch list:

  1. On the Batch List tab, click Shutdown… to display a list of all currently available shutdown programs.

  2. Click the appropriate program in the list to add it to the batch list. (When a program is selected, a check mark is displayed in the related check box.)

  3. Click Start to start the batch.

When you select a new program, the shutdown or standby program in the batch list is replaced by the new program. If the batch list includes more than one shutdown or standby program manually selected by the user, the program that was added to the list last is replaced.

     Note:

If a batch is already running, all shutdown and standby programs added before the sequences that are currently running are ignored.
