Emergency Program
Chromeleon can distinguish four types of errors:
Fatal Error (Abort - The batch is aborted.)
Serious Error (Error - The error is corrected to the extent possible and the batch continues running.)
Error (Warning – A warning appears and the batch continues running.)
Minor Error (Ignore - The error is logged in the Audit Trail and the batch continues running.)
If desired, you can define an emergency program for a fatal error. When you do, the emergency program will automatically start when the fatal error occurs and the batch will not be aborted.
The Retention Time continues as long as the emergency instrument method is active. The runtime of the emergency instrument method will be added to the Retention Time and interpreted as offset. Audit trail reporting will continue, also. After the emergency instrument method finishes running, an End of Sample entry is recorded in the audit trail.
