Agilent 6890N GC LAN Control: Entering the IP Address

 Tip:

It may not be possible to enter the IP address from the instrument's keyboard, especially for older instrument versions. In this case, use the BootP server (see Connecting Devices to the Chromeleon Server PC  TCP/IP Control: Installing the BootP Server).

Entering the IP address for the 6890N GC from the instrument’s keyboard:

• Press the Options key. Select Communication and press Enter. The following information is displayed:

COMMUNICATION SETPTS

---- LAN ----

IP: 000.000.000.000 <

GW: 000.000.000.000

SM: 000.000.000.000

Enable DHCP OFF

---- RS-232 ----

• Enter the IP address for your 6890N GC. Separate the numbers by dots. Press Enter to confirm your entry. Do NOT restart the instrument although you are prompted to do so.

• Press the Clear key. Enter the number for the gateway in the GW line and press Enter. Again, do not restart the instrument.

• Press the Clear key. Select SM and press the Mode/Type key. Enter the number for the subnet mask in the SM line and press Enter.

• Restart the GC when prompted.

• Press the Options key. Select Communication and press Enter to confirm your entry. Check that the displayed settings are correct.
