Tab Dialog Box:
Signals (2D) (Agilent LC System)
The table on this tab page shows the monitor and Chrom/Aux signals provided by the ICF and their assignment to the corresponding Chromeleon channels. Usually, the signals/channel assignment is performed automatically by Chromeleon. However, when configuring module clusters or if your system contains modules that are not yet known by Chromeleon, the signal settings have to be adapted manually. In this case, verify correct configuration of the options described below. In particular, make sure that
the signal assignment is correct. Note that each available ICF signal must be assigned to a Chromeleon channel. Otherwise, loss of data will result when acquiring data for a specific channel.
the naming of Chromeleon channels is correct
the correct upper/lower limits for each signal channel are specified. For information about suitable lower and upper limit values, refer to the operating manual of the respective module.
the appropriate unit and correct factor are used
Tips:
Incorrect entries are indicated by a red error icon displayed in front of the respective line. In case of an error, the OK button is disabled and you will not be able to continue until all errors have been resolved.
Warnings are highlighted by a yellow background and indicate inconsistencies, for example, in units, between the Chromeleon and ICF signals. Check the table carefully for any warnings, especially in signals of the generic (Gen) signal type.

Description |
Type |
Indicates the type of the signal, for example, auxiliary (Aux) or generic (Gen) signal. |
Name |
Specifies the name of the Chromeleon channel that is assigned to the corresponding monitor and Chrom/Aux signals provided by the ICF. You are free to select any signal name. However, make sure that the name is unique. All signals used in a timebase must have different names. Valid characters for a channel name are the letters A-Z, numbers, percent symbol, and underscore, the maximum number of characters is 24. |
Monitor Signal |
Indicates the name of the monitor signal provided by the ICF. |
Chrom/Aux Signal |
Indicates the name of the chromatogram/auxiliary signal provided by the ICF. |
Min./Max Value |
Specify the lower/upper limits for the respective signal channel. |
Unit |
Specify the signal unit for the recorded data, for example, µS, nA, mAU, °C. To change the unit, overwrite it directly in the field. A changed unit is indicated by a yellow background color. |
Factor |
Specify the factor for the selected signal (channel). |
