Dialog Box:
(Left/Right) Limits

The page shows the allowed ranges for the Flow Rate and pressure. The limits depend on the pump type. You are free to change the limits within the allowed range. If the actual flow or pressure is outside the specified limits, a message appears in the Audit Trail.

Option

Description

Flow

Range

Shows the allowed flow range.

Flow Unit

(Available only for the loading pump of the NCS-3500RS system) Select a unit for the flow (µl/min or ml/min). The default setting is µl/min.

Minimum

Enter a new value to change the lower limit for the flow rate within the allowed range.

Maximum

Enter a new value to change the upper limit for the flow rate within the allowed range. Also see information under Note below.

Double Flow

(Only HPG-3200BX) Select the check box if you want the pump to deliver flow rates above the flow rate that is usually allowed. When the check box is selected, both pump blocks are used for the delivery so that the maximum allowed rate is doubled.

Pressure

Range

Shows the allowed pressure range.

Pressure Unit

Select a unit for pressure (MPa, psi or bar).

Minimum

Enter a new value to change the lower limit for the pressure within the allowed range.

Maximum

Enter a new value to change the upper limit for the pressure within the allowed range. Also see information under Note below.

Note (UltiMate 3000 RS/SD Pumps only):

After installation of a pump upgrade kit for operation of an UltiMate 3000 SD or RS pump with extended pressure range (SD pump: 62 MPA, RS pump: 103 MPa), you may have to adapt the currently set Maximum Flow and Maximum Pressure limits to a value suitable for your application.

 Tip:

The pressure limits set here are the standard limits. If you want to change the limits only for a specific application, you can change the limits, for example, in the Commands dialog box. To do so, enter new value under Pressure.LowerLimit and Pressure.UpperLimit. Changing the limits in the Commands dialog does not change the standard limits on the Limits page.
