Injection Mode

Description

Pull

Sample is pulled from the sampling needle assembly into the sample loop.

Push

Sample is pushed from the sampling needle assembly into a sample loop or a concentrator column.

Push Simultaneous

Sample is pushed simultaneously from the sampling needle assembly into the sample loops of two systems. To perform simultaneous injections, the AS-AP must be equipped with the simultaneous injection option.

Push Sequential

Sample is pushed from the sampling needle assembly into the sample loops of two systems alternately. To perform sequential injections, the AS-AP must be equipped with the sequential injection option.

Single Valve

Click the arrow in the drop-down list to select the function of the corresponding valve. The valve function depends on the autosampler's plumbing configuration.

If two valves are installed, the Top Valve and Bottom Valve controls are available. If just one valve is installed, only the Single Valve controls are displayed.

 Note:

If a valve is configured for fraction collection, the suppressor in the IC system must be in the external water mode.

6-port/10-port

Select the number of ports in the corresponding valve.

Option

Description

Automatically Wash after Abort

This check box is selected by default. Accept this setting to have Chromeleon automatically perform a wash cycle after an Abort error (from any device) occurs.

Clear the check box to prevent a wash cycle after an Abort error.

Buffer Size

Select the volume of the buffer line installed between the syringe and the sample loop (when the injection valve is in the Load position) or between the syringe and the needle (when the injection valve is in the Inject position).

Syringe Size

Select the volume of the installed syringe.

Loop Size

Select the volume of the installed sample loop (or the first sample loop, if two are installed).

Loop Size 2

Select the volume of the second sample loop, if installed.

A second sample loop is required for the Push Sequential or Push Simultaneous injection mode.

Bridge Size

Select the volume of the bridge tubing that connects the injection valve and the fraction valve.

This option is available only when the fraction collection option is installed and the Pull injection mode is selected.

Temperature Control

If the sample temperature control option is installed, this check box is selected and is disabled.

If the AS-AP is in Demo Mode, the check box is enabled.

Limits

Description

Lower Limit/ Upper Limit

Enter the lower and upper temperature limits.

These options are available if the Temperature Control check box is selected.
