Autosampler Control
Entering Sample Preparation Vial and Well Plate Positions (AS/AS50)
In sample preparation operations for the AS and AS50 autosamplers, the position of the sample vial or well plate well (if supported) can be specified as either relative or absolute.
Note:
Well plate support requires AS Moduleware version 2.0.2 (or later). AS50 autosamplers do not support sampling from well plates, regardless of which Moduleware version is installed in the autosampler.
To specify a relative position, select CurrentVial for the current sample vial or well, CurrentVial+1 for one vial or well past the current position, CurrentVial+2 for two vials or wells past the current position, and so on, up to CurrentVial+9.
To specify an absolute position, enter the position of the vial or well in the tray. Valid positions depend on the tray type in use:
Tray Type |
Positions |
1.5 ml vial tray |
1 to 100 |
10 ml plastic tray |
1 to 49 |
96 well plate tray (all types) |
LA1, LA2, ¼ LA12 to LH1, LH2, ¼ LH12 (well plate installed on left) RA1, RA2, ¼ RA12 to RH1, RH2, ¼ RH12 (well plate installed on right) V1, V2, ¼ V10 (use for the 10, 1.5 ml vial positions on the well plate tray) |
Notes on well plate positions:
For example, well plate position LA1 identifies the well located at position A1, in the well plate installed on the left side of the tray. When the well plate is installed in the AS well plate tray, position LA1 is in the lower-left corner of the tray. Well letters and numbers are printed on the well plates and well plate covers. |
Tip:
For some operations you can specify FlushPort, instead of a vial or well.
