SP1 Flow Path and Valve Control (Concentration)

The diagram below shows the flow path through the components installed in an SP1. The table below the diagram lists the SP1 valves and the function each valve performs.

 Note:

When a solenoid valve is off, port NO is open and port NC is closed. When a solenoid valve is on, port NO is closed and port NC is open.

Valve

Function

SP_Solenoid_1 (SV1)
Standard Valve

On—directs stock standard to metering valve (for calibration standard preparation)
Off
—stops flow of stock standard

SP_Solenoid_2 (SV2)
Diluent Valve

On—directs diluent to dilution pump
Off
—stops flow of diluent

SP_Solenoid_3 (SV3)
Check Standard Valve

On—directs check standard to sample valve
Off
—directs sample to sample valve

SP_Solenoid_4 (SV4)
Sample Valve

On—directs sample or check standard to SS valve and loading pump for analysis.
Off
—directs sample or check standard to waste

SP_Solenoid_5 (SV5)
Sample/Standard Valve

On—directs calibration standard to loading pump
Off
—directs sample to loading pump

SP_Solenoid_6 (SV6)Dilution Vessel Valve

On—directs calibration standard to SS valve
Off
—purges dilution vessel to waste

SP_Solenoid_7 (SV7)

not installed

SP_Solenoid_8 (SV8)
Gas Valve

On—pressurizes the dilution vessel
Off
—vents the dilution vessel

RotaryValve_1
Metering Valve

Position 10–1—delivers diluent and loop contents to dilution vessel

Position 1–2—loads stock standard into the loop for delivery to dilution vessel
