Dialog Box:
Application Wizard: Timebase

In this step (see Samples and Sequences  The Application Wizard), select the Timebase where the control program will run. Different computers, timebases, and  Networks are listed in the right section of the overview window; the content displayed here depends on the user’s access rights.

Overview Window

There are three main entries in the overview window: My Computer, Favorites, and Network Neighborhood. Click the plus sign (+) beside an entry to display the items underneath. My Computer lists the timebases that are installed on this computer. Favorites lists all timebases to which your computer is connected. Network Neighborhood lists individual computers, grouped according to the network to which they are connected.

Fields

Timebase:

Indicates the timebase selected in the overview window.

Computer:

Indicates the computer where the currently selected timebase is installed.

Protocol:

Enables selection of different transfer protocols. The selection list includes only protocols that can transfer Chromeleon data.

 Note:

If the user has previously selected this timebase, the protocol that was last used to establish the connection will be selected automatically. Local installations always use the My Computer protocol, a local RPC protocol.

 Tip:

Most modern networks use the TCP/IP protocol.

If the connection to the timebase is currently not available, the Connect dialog box can be skipped. Click Cancel to abort the Connecting to server dialog box and confirm the action by clicking Yes.
