Dialog Box:
Trend Variable

This dialog box lets you select a variable to be plotted on the Trend Plot.

Categories:

Select a variable type.

Variables:

This list displays all variables in the currently selected category. Select a variable from the list. If the Parameter button is enabled, additional settings are possible for this variable.

Explain Variable:

Click this button to display a definition of the currently selected variable.

Parameter:

Click this button to display additional settings for a variable.

Formula...:

This field displays the mathematical expression of the selected variable. Chromeleon uses this expression for internal calculations.

Linking several trend variables via the four basic arithmetical operations generates a new trend variable. Several known variables can thus be combined to form a new variable.

If you wish, for example, to place the peak height in relation to the corresponding amount, this can be expressed as follows:

peak.height / peak.amount

See How to: Creating and Using Report Tables  Linking Report Variables for details about linking variables.

 Note:

The Additional Functions, such as SUM or AVERAGE that are supported in the Printer Layout, are not supported here.

Peak:

These options are available if a variable category beginning with Peak (e.g., Peak Results, Peak Calibration) is selected.

Select the Selected Peak option to display values for the currently selected peak. If a new peak is selected, the trend plot is updated.

Select the Fixed Peak option to always display values for a specific peak.

Channel:

These options are available if the selected variable category is Chromatogram, Detection Parameters, or any category beginning with Peak.

Select the Selected Channel option to display values of the currently selected channel. If a new channel is selected, the trend plot is updated.

Select the Fixed Channel option to always display values for a specific channel.
