Merck Hitachi LaChrom HPLC System: Device Settings for D-Line Control and Channel Assignment

The following device settings are required before you install the LaChrom HPLC System in Chromeleon:

L7100 Pump

Hold down the UTILITY key and turn on the pump. This enables Setup mode.
Press the ENTER key to scroll through the setup parameters until D-LINE: OFF=0, ON=1 appears on the display.
Press 1 to enable D-Line mode and confirm by pressing the ENTER key.
Turn the pump off and on again. The device performs an automatic self-test. When D-Line mode is enabled and the pump is not connected to Chromeleon, the following message appears on the display: D-LINE SYSTEM IS NOT READY.

L7200 Autosampler

Hold down the UTILITY key and turn on the autosampler. This enables Setup mode.
Press the ENTER key. D-LINE: OFF=0, ON=1 appears on the display.
Press 1 to enable D-Line mode and confirm by pressing the ENTER key.
Turn the autosampler off and on again. The device performs an automatic self-test. When D-Line mode is enabled and the autosampler is not connected to Chromeleon, the following message appears on the display: D-LINE SYSTEM IS NOT READY.

L7300 Column Oven

Turn on the column oven and press the CL key within five seconds. The display will show either an L (for contact control) or a C for D-Line control.
Press the CL key until the display reads C and D-Line control is active.
Turn the column oven off and on again.

L7400 Detector

Hold down the UTILITY key and turn on the detector. D-LINE: OFF=0, (CH1)=1, (CH2)=2 appears on the display.
Press 1 or 2 to enable D-Line mode. The associated channel, 1 or 2, is automatically assigned to the detector. If your HPLC system is equipped with two detectors, please note that each channel number must be unique within the system.
Confirm by pressing the ENTER key.
Turn the detector off and on again. The device performs an automatic self-test. When D-Line mode is enabled and the detector is not connected to Chromeleon, the following message appears on the display: D-LINE SYSTEM IS NOT READY.
