Installing the License Server
Configuring a PC with a Pure Chromeleon Client

The license reference for a PC on which no Chromeleon server is installed is established directly in the Chromeleon client.

  1. Start Chromeleon. Select File > Preferences to open the Preferences dialog box.

  2. On the License tab page, select License Server. The Key Code input field is disabled, as it is no longer required. Click the Browse ('...') button next to License Server to open another dialog box.

  3. Select the computer on which the Chromeleon License Server runs. Enter the name of the Chromeleon server PC. Or else, select a PC from the network list in the right window section. In addition, select a network protocol from the protocol list by means of which the local PC can connect to the License Server PC.

    Tip:

If "Server not found" is displayed in the list on the right, a firewall may be active on the PC and CmLicSrv.exe is not included in the exceptions list. Also refer to Chromeleon and Windows Firewall (from WinXP SP2 on).

  4. Close both dialog boxes by clicking OK. This action reconfigures the local Chromeleon server. The license will now refer to the selected Chromeleon License Server whenever the connection is successful with these settings.

To check whether the connection to the License Server was successful, select Help > About Chromeleon.

Also, refer to  Configuring a PC with a Chromeleon Server.

If problems occur during installation, refer to  Troubleshooting (License Server) for possible remedial action.
